Where Everybody Belongs (WEB)!

You Belong imageHighland Middle School will be initiating a new transition program for incoming 6th grade students called WEB for the 2021-22 school year. WEB stands for Where Everybody Belongs. This program welcomes new 6th graders and makes them feel comfortable throughout the entire first year of their middle school experience.

Members of incoming 8th grade class were selected under strict criteria and trained by HMS staff to act as positive role models, motivators, and more importantly, leaders. These 8th grade mentors, along with staff, will guide the 6th graders to discover what it takes to be successful in middle school.

The goal of the WEB program is to help students gain confidence in their new surroundings, create and maintain healthy school habits, and feel a connection to the school while reducing anxiety, bullying and discipline issues.

Special thanks to The Highland Foundation for their generous support to help make this program possible.
