I thought that it would be helpful to introduce myself to my new students and their families.  I grew up in Hinckley the oldest of two girls.  I began my education at Hinckley Elementary and continued until graduation in the Highland Local School District.  My education degree, middle childhood, grades 4-9 has concentration of Social Studies and Language Arts and Reading.  I have lived in Wadsworth with my husband, Michael, and three children, Michael, Jr., Amelia and Kaitlyn for the past 23 years.  I became an educator as a “third career” after working in business and staying at home with my children.  I am so excited to be teaching sixth grade!

As your child’s new teacher, I will strive to help your child make the transition from elementary to middle school.  The learning experiences that I facilitate will be active and connected to other areas of the curriculum and to prior learning and life experiences. I believe in a balance of cooperation, competition, and individual achievement in the school environment to enhance a student’s development. I will strive to prepare your child for effective participation as future citizens of our democratic society and of a multicultural world community. Finally, I support an active partnership of the school, the family, and the community in order to achieve a successful learning experience.

Please utilize this website to further enhance the communication between school and home.  I will keep a monthly calendar and daily activity and assignments.
