Biography:
Mrs. Connie Marzullo
Welcome to Sharon Elementary! I have had the privilege of working in the Highland District for the past sixteen years; first as assistant principal at Highland Middle School and then as principal at Sharon for fourteen years. Before coming to the Highland District I worked in several private schools as a teacher, coordinator for an early education program and as an elementary principal. I graduated from Kent State University in the area of elementary/special education and also received a Master Degree in Educational Administration from KSU.
Highland is my second home. I live in Hinckley with my husband and our three children graduated from Highland High School. Mariah, Monique and Matthew are all doing well and believe that they received an excellent education here. All three of our children still speak highly of their experience saying that they had ample opportunity to become actively involved in a number of extra curricular activities besides a solid academic program. Highland provided our children with a caring environment that promoted high expectations for both academics and behavior.
Since I was a little girl I wanted to grow up to become a teacher. Working with children and adults who love children is one of the best jobs in the world. Watching teachers help students discover their talents and learn is my passion. One of my favorite parts of the day is visiting classrooms and seeing our children actively engaged in learning. I enjoy the warmth that the children exude and especially enjoy them sharing their work and thoughts with me. One of the special things that I enjoy sharing with children is my love of children’s books. Throughout the year, I visit classrooms to share books and invite children to lunch with the principal where we share our favorite stories. Children love to hear a wide selection of books, especially the ones from my ‘Grandma shelf.’
I am very appreciative that I work in a district that values their children’s education. We are fortunate to have wholesome families who send us wonderful children and a committed staff who truly strive to do their best.
Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions regarding our school or if you would be interested in visiting our school or lovely school garden.
