The next page includes a list of supplies that are general things needed for all academic subjects and teachers in sixth grade.

One thing you might note is that we ask that students NOT USE TRAPPERS! “Not use Trappers! That’s crazy!” you might be thinking. Our rationale is that students tend to carry way more than is needed in their trappers. Plus, it’s really easy to shove a paper into a slot, any slot, and say, “I’ve put it away,” only to find that the paper has somehow disappeared into the unknown “trapper-land” of lost papers! We use a common binder system, seeing that most of the teachers required binders anyway. We decided it would be the best way to keep students organized by subject. Another benefit is that it will be less to carry between classes.

“What are ‘supplies collected by teacher’?” Supplies marked for classroom use or collected by the teacher are shared in our classes for student use. We make community supply boxes where glue sticks, tape, index cards, etc., are available throughout the day in all classrooms.

Hand sanitizer will be available for use before using shared items such as scissors and computer keyboards to help keep everyone healthy.
