Students, parents take annual trip through time During Granger Elementary School’s Annual Wax Museum, this year held on May 10, the entire gym was transformed into Granger Township of the 1800s. Third grade students discussed township schools, businesses and life during that time. They also talked about prominent people of the area, such as Harriet Chandler, the flag maker of Sharon, and were dressed in 1800s clothing. This was a culminating event to the 3rd grade social studies curriculum. Parents and special guests were also invited to take a trip through time and enjoyed seeing all the students in action. A special thank you is extended to 3rd grade teachers Colleen Hyland, Emily Kaplack, Julie Humberson and substitute teacher Julie Wilkes.

Granger Kids Love a 'Challenge' The 3nd Annual Granger Walk-A-Thon, also known as the Granger Challenge, was held on May 3 to help raise funds for the PTO. The event was a fun and friendly competition where students asked for pledges from family and friends. It was perfect weather as the students made their way around the track at the Highland Stadium. Everyone was dressed in bright colors and enjoyed dancing, walking and even running to the music! Special thanks to the students, staff and Granger PTO for making such a wonderful event possible...and thanks to everyone who made a generous donation to the PTO. The event raised a total of $11,140! This money will be used to supplement the many activities and classroom supports that the PTO sponsors. The fundraiser was organized by Theresa Wright and Ann Petersen. ----------------------------------- NEW!
