47 staff members continue the tradition of excellence at Highland Middle School with all 764 students enrolled in grades 6 – 8. Students participate in a core curriculum of Language Arts, Math, Science, Social Studies and Physical Education. Students also have classes in Art, Health and Computer application.

The music program consists of a Band and Choir at each grade level. Additional performance groups include the Jazz Band, and an 8th grade boys and 8th grade girls choir.

Our school system has earned the rating of Excellent by the State Department of Education as having obtained 22 of 22 benchmarks. The benchmarks are based upon proficiency test scores, student attendance and AYP (adequate yearly progress). Our students consistently score at the top of the 5-county area. The district’s Report Card can be viewed on-line at www.ode.state.oh.us.

7th and 8th grade students are eligible to participate in the following interscholastic sports at Highland Middle School. Academic eligibility is required and some teams hold try-outs.
