THEMES
There will be several sub-themes that revolve around the larger theme, “Reading Does a Body Good.”
October/November: “Exercise Does a Body Good”
Not only should students read their 500 minutes, they will be encouraged to do simple exercises such as jumping rope, riding their bikes or raking leaves.
December/January: “Kindness Does a Body Good”
Students will be given a checklist of good deed suggestions including: helping clean up the house, calling a sick relative or writing a thank you note.
February/March: “Healthy Habits Do a Body Good”
Students will be encouraged to adopt some good habits such as making their bed or turning off the TV to read a book.
April/May: “Creativity Does a Body Good”
During the spring months, students will be encouraged to think outside the box and paint a picture or make a spring flower arrangement. |
