Music, Drama, and Fine Arts
Approximately one third of Highland High School students participate in our drama, band, choir, or art programs. Students have many options when it comes to music. They can join one of many bands including The “Pride of Highland” Marching Band, Concert Band, Wind Ensemble, and Symphonic Band. Students may also join one of five choir groups including: Mixed Chorus, Concert Choir, Women’s Chorus, Chorale, or Added Attraction. Each spring, the vocal music department produces a musical. All Highland students are eligible to participate, whether or not they’re involved in other Highland musical groups. The Highland Drama department also helps with the spring musical, along with staging two additional shows for staff and students. Drama participants make all the sets, act in the shows, and produce them. Several Highland students opt to participate in the fine arts program by enrolling in specialized courses. Students in the program consistently receive recognition at the annual Ohio Scholastic Art Competition
