A very special and powerful presentation, “Robby’s Voice: Breaking the Silence,” will be offered to Highland parents at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, March 13 in the Highland High School auditorium.
“Robby’s Voice” was initiated after Rob Brandt’s 20-year-old son died in October 2011 of an accidental heroin overdose after a long struggle with addiction. Brandt is now president of Robby’s Voice, a nonprofit organization dedicated to spreading awareness about addiction throughout Northeast Ohio.
The parent program focuses on awareness and education. Intertwining Robby’s story, and the experience of others with the facts surrounding drugs in our communities, parents are presented with information they need to know. The program includes videos, testimonials from other parents and addicts, speakers from enforcement and support agencies and a Q&A session. The goal of this program is to work together so that parents can better understand addiction and become more engaged with awareness, prevention and action. We hope that you can attend.
