PETE ULRICH NAMED HIGHLAND HIGH SCHOOL PRINCIPAL

Highland High School Associate Principal Pete Ulrich will become the school’s next principal. Ulrich has served in his current position for the past 9 years. The start of the 2008-09 school year marks his 10th year at Highland and his 30th year as an educator.


Ulrich began his career as a band director in the Manchester Local School District.Mr. Pete Ulrich is a professional educator known for his dedication and overwhelming concern for students. He is well-respected by colleagues, staff members and parents. He stood out among a highly qualified pool of applicants following a rigorous three-step interview process that included a final interview in front of teachers, parents, students and community members. Highland’s new Superintendent, Catherine Aukerman, says that Ulrich was the obvious choice. “Pete not only exemplified the strong leadership qualities that we were looking for in our next high school principal, but over the years, he has also demonstrated a loyalty and a long-term commitment to the Highland Local School District which has served our students and communities well.”

Ulrich says he feels honored to be chosen as Highland High School’s next principal. "The Highland educational community has challenged us to provide extraordinary advancement opportunities for the school children we serve. Our school district as a whole has made the commitment to embrace those challenges, and the chance to interact from this position is one of great excitement.”

Ulrich replaces Daryl Kubilus, who is leaving Highland to become the Superintendent of the Cloverleaf Local School District.
